Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Duties

Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility. Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Monitor and record patients' health status, reporting any changes to nursing staff. Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Skills

Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous. Proficient in IT skills for documentation and communication tasks. Ability to drive is desirable for transporting patients when needed. Excellent command of English for effective communication with patients and colleagues. Empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
