We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously, contributing to the overall quality of care provided.
Duties
Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Monitor and record patients' health status, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes as needed.
Skills
Experience in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise with patients' needs.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting patients when necessary.
