Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with the nurse on shift to support the clients physical and mental health needs.

Duties

Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility. Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. Drive to patients' homes when required, ensuring safe transportation and adherence to all road safety regulations. Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately. A valid driving licence is an advantage for those involved in home visits. Proficiency in IT systems related to healthcare documentation is beneficial. A caring attitude towards patients and a commitment to providing high-quality support.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
