Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for those we support, whether in a residential setting, nursing home, or through home care services.

Responsibilities



Provide patient care and support to individuals in various settings, including senior care and assisted living facilities. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions. Engage in behaviour management techniques to support individuals with challenging behaviours. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.

Service user Description



Service user is a 57-year with complex health needs and profound physical disabilities, lives with her son in Barking, London, has a diagnosis of Spinal injury class Asia A C2/C3, recurrent UTI, chest infections, Paralysis, Pancreatitis, hypotension, and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, is totally dependent upon and reliant on carers 24 hours a day to manage all of her care needs and to ensure her safety. She has past medical history of Acute motor axonal Neuropathy classed as Spinal injury class Asia A C2/C3, She is susceptible to Urinary tract infection and recurrent chest infection, with history of typhoid attack as a child. She has been diagnosed with Paralysis from chest to down, Pancreatitis and hypotension. She is known type 2 Diabetes mellitus and on regular glycaemic diet and drugs. She has a Tracheostomy for airway patency and history of Pacemaker implantation. Her body temperature fluctuates mostly leading to hypothermia. She has a supra pubic catheter in situ for incontinence management. She has a grade 3 pressure ulcer healed. Due to spinal injury, she is also at risk of autonomic dysreflexia. She has no sensation, and her body cannot regulate its own temperature and will take on the temperature of her environment.

Pay: 16.37-17.07 per hour
