We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented
Health Care Assistant
to support patient care across various medical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and emergency environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience working within fast-paced healthcare facilities such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, Geriatrics, PICU, and surgical units. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient well-being while working alongside a dedicated healthcare team.
Duties
Assist with patient intake processes, including recording vital signs and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
Support patient service activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, and basic hygiene care
Administer medications and perform basic life support (BLS) procedures under supervision
Monitor patients' physiological parameters and recognize signs of deterioration in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings
Assist with diagnostic procedures including X-ray preparation and basic assessments in trauma or surgical units
Document patient information accurately using ICD coding and medical terminology
Support physicians and nurses with clinical tasks in dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols for infection control, safety standards, and emergency procedures
Provide compassionate care in various environments such as ICU (PICU), OR, or outpatient clinics
Requirements
Prior experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or clinic settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical terminology required
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or required upon hire
Experience working with EHR systems and medical administrative support is advantageous
Ability to work effectively in inpatient and outpatient environments within a Level I or Level II trauma center preferred
Strong patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU or surgical units
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Flexibility to adapt to various shifts depending on departmental needs

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
