We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care by performing tasks such as taking vital signs and conducting intake assessments.
Provide medical administrative support, including managing electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols.
Support patients during their stay by offering compassionate care and assistance with daily activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
Conduct basic life support procedures when necessary and assist in emergency situations.
Engage with patients to ensure their comfort and address any concerns regarding their treatment.
Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical-surgical practices to enhance patient care delivery.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus.
Familiarity with urgent care, outpatient services, hospital medicine, and clinic environments is highly desirable.
Proficient understanding of medical terminology and basic life support certification is required.
Strong skills in patient service and communication to effectively interact with patients and their families.
Ability to perform tasks related to medication administration, intake processes, and vital sign monitoring.
Knowledge of EHR systems for efficient patient data management.
