high-quality, person-centred care
to our residents throughout the night, ensuring their
comfort, safety, and dignity
at all times. You'll be a calm, reassuring presence who helps residents rest peacefully and responds promptly to their needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver respectful, person-centred care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support.
Help residents prepare for bed and settle comfortably for the night, offering reassurance and companionship.
Respond promptly and sensitively to call bells and resident needs during the night.
Carry out regular checks and observations (e.g. hourly safety rounds, wellbeing monitoring) in line with individual care plans.
Support residents with repositioning, mobility, and use of equipment as required to promote comfort and prevent pressure areas.
Accurately record and report changes in residents' health, wellbeing, or sleep patterns.
Maintain accurate care documentation and ensure smooth handovers to day staff.
Keep resident bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas clean, tidy, and hygienic throughout the night.
Administer medication safely if trained and authorised (optional, depending on qualification level).
Immediately report any safeguarding, health, or safety concerns to the senior on duty or management team.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a care or nursing home setting is desirable, but
not essential
-- full training will be provided.
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
A kind, patient, and understanding nature, with genuine respect for older people and those in need of care.
Good communication and record-keeping skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and remain attentive and proactive throughout night shifts.
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
