Responsibilities
Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
Support clinical staff with procedures related to dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and other specialties by preparing equipment and ensuring a sterile environment.
Administer medications under supervision and assist with medication reconciliation to ensure accuracy in patient treatment plans.
Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Support hospital medicine teams by monitoring patient status, updating charts with ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding, and assisting with basic physiology and anatomy assessments.
Conduct X-ray preparations and assist radiology teams during imaging procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient mobility, and supporting emergency medicine teams during urgent care situations or Level I/II trauma center responses.
Collaborate effectively within medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns compassionately and ensuring comfort throughout their healthcare experience.
Support medical administrative functions including appointment scheduling, data entry, ICD coding for billing purposes, and managing patient flow in busy clinics or hospital environments.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care procedures, and outpatient care protocols.
Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.
Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively during emergencies.
Excellent understanding of medical terminology along with physiology and anatomy fundamentals necessary for patient assessment.
Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
Proven ability to support inpatient units like medical-surgical floors or Geriatrics wards as well as outpatient clinics.
Skilled in intake procedures including collecting comprehensive patient histories and vital signs measurement.
Knowledge of ICD coding practices for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing processes.
Ability to assist with X-ray procedures and support radiology staff during imaging sessions.
Experience supporting PICU or OR (Operating Room) teams is a plus for candidates interested in specialized areas of care.
