Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care across various medical settings, including urgent care, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.

Duties

Assist healthcare professionals in delivering patient care and support during medical procedures. Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and vital signs. Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers. Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information. Provide basic life support when necessary and respond to emergencies promptly. Support patients with daily activities and ensure their comfort during their stay. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, and emergency medicine. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment. Assist with X-ray procedures and other diagnostic tests as needed. Uphold knowledge of ICD coding for accurate billing processes.

Experience

Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:

Dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units. Familiarity with level I and level II trauma centers is preferred. Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks. Understanding of physiology and anatomy to ensure effective patient care. Previous experience in PICU or OR settings is a plus. Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service are essential for success in this role.
