Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being are maintained to a high standard. Resident preference and choice is at the centre of everything we do so it is essential to possess effective communications skills in order to get to know our residents. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist clients with daily activities.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring that individual needs are met. Monitor and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the appropriate staff members. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by following health and safety protocols. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere. Support residents to attend appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.

Skills

Proficient in English with strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, health care professionals and team members. Experience or knowledge of care home practices is advantageous. Familiarity with following care plans tailored to individual resident needs. Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes - you will be provided with training around our PCS system.
