Role: Domiciliary Carer / Homecare Assistant
Role Overview
In this rewarding role, you will visit clients in their own homes to provide essential support that helps them maintain independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
You will deliver person-centred care in line with best practice and regulatory standards under the direction of senior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Living Support
Domestic and Meal Preparation
Preparing nutritious meals, assisting with cooking, and supporting clients with planning and managing their diet.
Medication Support
Prompting or assisting clients with taking prescribed medication according to their care plans.
Personal Care
Supporting clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining overall hygiene--always ensuring dignity and respect.
Community-Based Support & Companionship
Offering social interaction, monitoring wellbeing, and helping clients remain engaged and independent within their community.
Role Details
Job Title: Domiciliary Carer
Reports To: Senior Carer / Care Coordinator / Deputy Manager / Registered Manager
Location: Based at the service premises; travel to other locations may be required with notice.
Working Hours: 3-5 days over a 7-day period with varied shift patterns.
Driving Requirement: A full driving licence is essential for travelling between client postcode locations.

Ensure service users are central to all care delivery.
Follow care plans and report any changes in needs.
Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of clients.
Support individuals to maintain relationships and community connections.
Working With Others
Build positive working relationships with colleagues and external professionals.
Maintain communication with families and those important to the service user (where appropriate).
Professional Conduct
Act as a role model and ambassador for the service.
Engage in ongoing training and personal development.
Understand and follow CQC regulations and organisational policies.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Good written and spoken English
Full driving licence
Desirable
RQF qualifications in Health & Social Care
Skills
Communication: Build rapport and communicate effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and professionals.
Problem-Solving: Adapt quickly and respond confidently to changing situations.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate care records.
Leadership (Desirable): Support and orientate new staff.
Experience
