We have a purpose built Practice, central to the community and serve an elderly population. Petworth Surgery is an established 3 partner rural Practice with just over 6000 patients. We are seeking a passionate Health care assistant to support the practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of clinical and administrative services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis.
Main Responsibilities:
Undertake new patient health checks
Undertake Diabetic Part One checks and home visits for foot checks
Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findings accurately
Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
Carry out BMI checks as directed
Act as a chaperone as required
Administer vaccines, including Pneumo, shingles, Flu Vaccinations, B12, RSV
Carry out Feno assessment
Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample
Perform venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols
Perform Doppler testing and measurement for stockings
What we're looking for:
Empathy, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others
Good communication and teamwork skills
Experience is great but training can be provided
Completion of Care certificates is preferred however not essential
