Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities, fostering a supportive environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff. Engage in meaningful conversations with patients to promote emotional well-being and companionship. Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised environment.

Skills

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Experience or knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes is advantageous. Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients when necessary.
