Main Responsibilities
Support Residents through their planned programme of Patient centred care, monitoring and evaluating, reporting any changes to registered staff.
Undertake other designated duties within capabilities and knowledge following assessment by Duty Nurse.
Support Duty Nurse during clinical procedures
Support and empowering Residents to reach goals
Support and comfort a Resident and their partner, relatives and friends at times of bereavement and loss.
Respect the rights, privacy and dignity of the individual at all times.
Contribute to the Health and Safety of Residents and staff.
Reinforce and actively participate in the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
Contribute to the management of abusive or aggressive behaviour
Contribute to the management of patient continence.
To clearly document Patients Notes, care undertaken and report any concerns to Duty Nurse.
A clearly defined Key Worker Role will be allocated once induction and probation period is over. This additional role is paramount in giving "holistic" care
To help maintain stock levels and rotation of stock used in working area and report shortfalls to Duty Nurse.
To assist with meals to include, serving, feeding and monitoring intake of Patients and Document accordingly.
Attend meetings, study days and in-service training as required.
Participate in an appraisal programme formulating a personal development plan identifying personal training needs, aiming to meet both professional and company objectives.
To support less experienced staff in achieving competencies.
Actively involve Residents in decisions about their own choice of care.
Maintain clear channels of communication between self, team, residents and carers.
Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness common sense and local knowledge to respond to the needs of the resident.

During induction familiarise themselves with copies of: Health and Safety Policy, Policy and Procedures, Confidentiality, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Infection Control all of which can be found at the Nurses Station.

Show courtesy and respect to Residents, their relatives, and all visitors to the Home. Retain confidentiality of the Resident and their family, at all times.
Greet all visitors to CHNH, in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner and promote your position, and the Home, positively in the local community.
Maintain good working relations with all colleagues at all times. In order that the Home may maintain its positive environment, employees are required not to engage in, or permit any fellow employee to engage in, any unlawful discrimination against any persons, living in or visiting the Home. Attend, participate, and be proactive in training sessions and staff meetings as and when required.
