Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in care homes and clients receiving home care. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of those in our care. A driving licence is preferred, as some roles may involve travel between locations.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support for each resident or client. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to the supervising nurse or manager. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Support with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the care setting. Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and accessing care plans are beneficial. A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that require travel between locations. A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others is essential for success in this role. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
