About Ashberry Healthcare Ltd:
We are a privately owned and operated care home group with 8 homes across England and Wales providing residential and nursing services to 230 elderly adults, many living with dementia. Meadowview Care Home is located in the leafy residential area of Penketh in Warrington. As the name suggests, it overlooks a meadow, which is currently home to horses. The single-storey home is also surrounded by beautiful gardens and patio areas. Our home focuses on delivering exceptional standards of personalised care and ensuring residents and their families feel supported and respected.
Main Purpose of Job:
To assist the Team Leaders in providing care for the residents who require additional attention to their care, thus maintaining an environment in which residents receive the highest standards of care. To assist by performing a wide range of duties for which formal nurse training is not required to ensure the smooth running of the home.
Functions:
Assist Team Leaders with the care of the residents in the homes.
Liaising closely with the Team Leaders on all matters affecting residents care and the seeking of advice as required.
Undertaking under the supervision of the Team Leaders basic resident care including:
Manual handling, and positioning ambulant and non-ambulant residents using the correct techniques
Assisting the residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, and washing.
Bed making.
Preventative care and the treatment of pressure areas.
Assisting with the dressing and undressing of residents according to physical ability.
Observing and reporting upon the resident's condition.
Assisting with the collection and observation of specimens and routine tests of urine.
Other Duties:
Maintaining records of resident's activities of daily living and providing assistance wherever necessary.
Attending in-service training programmes at the request of the Manager.
Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other members of the care team.
Maintaining equipment in good serviceable order, keeping it clean and stored appropriately.
Ensuring that economical use is made of equipment and materials, and monitoring use as required.
Rough cleaning and spot cleaning of spillages of faeces, urine, vomit and other personal spillages particularly substances that are prone to causing stains.
