Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home care and care homes. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support patients with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to care plans.

Duties

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and medication reminders. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. Drive to various locations as required for home visits or community support services. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential. Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately. A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between locations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families. Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication is desirable.
