At Melita Healthcare. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in both home care and supported living settings. Your primary focus will be on assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of those in your care. Strong communication skills in English are vital for effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities to enhance their independence. Implement and follow care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the healthcare team. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment. Maintain a clean and safe living space for patients by adhering to health and safety protocols. Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Skills

Proficient in English with strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with patients and colleagues. A minimum of 6 moths experience in Support work or working within a care home environment is advantageous. Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately. Basic IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation. A caring attitude with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in your care. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while prioritising patient needs.
