About the Role



We are currently seeking

dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Care Assistants

to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to our residents during day shifts. As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing for each individual in our care.

This is a highly rewarding role that requires a genuine desire to help others and a strong team ethic. You'll work closely with residents, relatives, fellow staff, and visiting professionals to ensure the highest standards of care and comfort.

Key Responsibilities



Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, such as washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support residents with mobility issues, using appropriate aids and equipment as outlined in individual care plans. Provide care and assistance to residents with dementia or other behavioral challenges using effective intervention techniques. Help with serving meals, supporting residents with eating and drinking, preparing light meals or snacks, and cleaning up after meals. Make and change beds, maintain cleanliness in residents' rooms, and carry out light domestic tasks (dusting, tidying, emptying commodes). Escort residents to medical appointments and participate in community outings or in-house activities that enhance physical and mental wellbeing. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional health to senior staff. Handle and maintain resident information with strict confidentiality and adhere to company data protection policies. Promote a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment in line with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards. Participate in staff meetings, care reviews, and training sessions. Undertake additional duties where required, in line with training and experience.

Essential Traits and Requirements



We are looking for individuals who are:

Caring, patient, and sensitive to the needs and privacy of others. Good communicators with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physically fit and capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, including lifting, moving, and supporting residents. Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work shifts including weekends and cover for holidays or sickness as required. Committed to upholding the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of elderly and disabled individuals. Professional in appearance, hygiene, and personal conduct at all times.

Physical Demands & Risk Awareness



Please be aware that this role involves:

Assisting residents with physical movement (e.g., from bed to wheelchair), often without mechanical aids. Standing or being on your feet for long periods during your shift. Occasional night shift cover (in emergencies). Lifting and moving care equipment, beds, and mattresses. Supporting residents who are terminally ill with compassion and resilience. Cleaning up and disposing of bodily fluids using appropriate PPE.
