We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support in patient care across various medical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and specialized units such as Geriatrics, PICU, and Medical-Surgical departments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support to ensure high-quality patient service and safety. Experience with EHR systems, ICD coding, medication administration, and hospital procedures is highly desirable. Responsibilities
Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation using EHR systems
Support patient care activities including bathing, mobility assistance, and basic hygiene needs
Monitor and record patient conditions accurately, including vital signs and symptoms
Assist with medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation
Prepare patients for procedures such as X-ray or surgical interventions in the OR or outpatient settings
Support hospital staff with administrative tasks such as scheduling and record keeping
Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean environment in compliance with hospital protocols
Provide compassionate patient service tailored to individual needs across diverse departments such as Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
Assist in emergency situations by supporting staff with basic life support and emergency protocols
Requirements
Prior experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or medical-surgical units is preferred; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration processes
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or PICU are advantageous
Strong understanding of outpatient and inpatient care procedures across various specialties including Geriatrics and Internal Medicine
Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and familiarity with X-ray procedures is beneficial
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
Ability to work effectively within fast-paced hospital environments such as trauma centers or clinics
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
This position is integral to delivering comprehensive healthcare services while supporting the clinical team in providing safe, efficient patient care.
