Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good command of English, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility. Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff. Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, encouraging their independence and dignity. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure high-quality care. Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices. Drive to various locations as required for home care visits (driving licence preferred).

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service users.
