We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and clinics, and possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and administrative support. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while assisting healthcare professionals in delivering effective treatments.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily activities and personal hygiene.
Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in EHR systems.
Assist with patient intake processes, including gathering medical history and performing basic assessments.
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper handling of medications.
Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including X-rays and other diagnostic tests.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and follow-up care.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a healthcare setting such as urgent care, outpatient clinics, or hospitals is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic life support is essential.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient patient documentation.
Experience in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical is a plus.
Ability to perform intake assessments and accurately document patient information.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient service.
Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
