Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties



Assist in patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and conducting preliminary assessments. Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and support during medical procedures. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care across various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Maintain cleanliness and organization within patient areas to promote a safe environment. Educate patients on treatment plans and provide support for outpatient services as well as inpatient care. Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in the assessment of patients' conditions. Participate in the management of patients in specialized areas such as PICU or surgical settings (OR experience preferred). Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.

Requirements



Proven experience in a healthcare setting such as hospitals or clinics; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks, including ICD coding and medical terminology. Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications related to geriatrics or urgent care are a plus. Strong understanding of patient care protocols and the ability to perform intake assessments efficiently. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information. Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-13.50 per hour
