We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring the wellbeing of clients, and maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams. Duties
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Support the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their independence and dignity
Help with medication reminders and basic health monitoring as required
Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
Drive to various care locations as needed, ensuring punctuality and reliability
Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff
Experience
We are seeking candidates with experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and learning disabilities, assisting with daily routines and challenging behaviours, and who are trained in physical intervention, such as PMVA and any other relevant training, to manage high-risk situations safely.
Good understanding of care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
A driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between locations, but not mandatory
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
