Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in both care home and home care settings. Your primary focus will be on assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to care plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good command of English, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and feeding. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients. Follow care plans meticulously to ensure all health needs are met. Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients. Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Utilise IT systems for record keeping and communication with other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to converse effectively in English. Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting patients. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when required.
