Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals in both care home and home care settings. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to patient welfare, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. A valid driving licence is preferred for this role, as it may involve travel between locations.

Responsibilities

Assist residents and clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Support the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and clients, ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere within the care home or during home visits. Utilise IT systems for documentation of care activities and communication with team members effectively. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues. A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between care locations. Basic IT skills are necessary for maintaining records and communicating within the team. A compassionate attitude towards caring for others is paramount, along with the ability to work well under pressure. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service.
