Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate records of medication administration. Assist with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met. Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs. Support clients with mobility and engage in heavy lifting when necessary. Facilitate social interactions and encourage participation in activities to promote mental well-being. Monitor clients' physical and emotional health, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with Alzheimer's or dementia care needs. Assist with behaviour management strategies as required. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.

Qualifications

Previous experience in senior care, home care, or hospice care is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and case management practices is an advantage. First aid certification is preferred. A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients as needed. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required. A caring attitude with a passion for helping others achieve their best quality of life.
