Duties
Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans and medical guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Engage clients in social activities and behavioural management strategies to promote mental well-being
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in client condition
Facilitate transportation for appointments or outings, ensuring safe driving practices where applicable
Support with specialised care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans
Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary
Skills
Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
Experience in Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care is advantageous
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanour
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
Excellent organisational skills for managing care plans and case management tasks
Valid driving licence for transportation duties
First aid certification is essential or willingness to obtain training promptly
Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
