Job Description

An opportunity for Health Care Support Workers has arisen within CTMUHB critical care department at Prince Charles Hospital. We are looking for reliable motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.



The individuals will be required to work under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.



The successful candidate will be caring for patients on an acute critical care department looking after Level 3, 2 & 1 patients with complex health issues. The post holder will be responsible for providing, alongside a dedicated registered nurse, care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing mobilizing, feeding, communication and pressure area care.



The successful candidate will also be expected to monitor stores and stock rotation and assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.



The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative.



Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
