Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care is essential.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary. Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring they are followed accurately. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when required. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Support clients with Alzheimer's and dementia care, employing behaviour management techniques as needed. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in a caregiving role within a nursing home or care home setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with patient care is essential. Certification in First Aid is highly desirable. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is required. Experience in home care or hospice care will be considered an advantage. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.

Pay: 12.21-13.20 per hour
