Do you want to support children and young people to manage emotional and mental health challenges and build resilience?
We are recruiting a permanent Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary S CAMHS team at the Elizabeth Williams Clinic in Llanelli.
Working to care plans established by therapists, you will engage young people in behavioural activation, graduated exposure and social activities, and encourage practical skills development in community settings through one-to-one work and therapeutic groups.
The role involves providing direct support through one-to-one and group interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional health challenges. The role involves community skills work, encouraging and accompanying young people in real-life settings to practice strategies that alleviate anxiety and low mood. The post holder will also engage in activity facilitation, assisting with behavioural activation, graded exposure tasks, and social activities to help consolidate therapeutic progress. A key responsibility is linking to resources, ensuring young people and their families are connected with local community, voluntary, and third-sector supports. Effective teamwork and documentation are essential, requiring collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, active contribution to care planning, and maintaining accurate records.
