Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. The Support Worker will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities



Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of clients, collaborating with healthcare professionals as necessary. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in behaviour or health status. Assist clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Support clients with behavioural management techniques when required, fostering a positive environment. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure continuity of care. Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a support worker or similar role is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare setting. Familiarity with medication administration procedures is preferred. Strong understanding of patient care principles, including the development of care plans tailored to individual needs. Experience in home care or working within a care home environment is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client interactions. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in relevant areas such as behaviour management.

Contract length: 52 months

Pay: 12.82-17.00 per hour
