Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with Alzheimer's and dementia. The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering personalised care plans while ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to medical guidelines. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring client safety at all times. Monitor and document changes in client behaviour or condition, reporting any concerns to senior staff. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a nursing home or care home setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and senior care practices is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and case management principles is beneficial. First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient-centred care. Ability to drive may be required for certain roles within the organisation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
