We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents' wellbeing, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Responsibilities
Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Administer medication safely and accurately following prescribed protocols.
Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
Assist with mobility and transfer tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary, using proper techniques to ensure safety.
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental health and wellbeing.
Monitor and record patients' conditions, behaviours, and progress in line with organisational procedures.
Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses and case managers to deliver comprehensive care.
Support clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and household tasks.
Drive clients when required for appointments or outings, ensuring safe transportation.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in care settings such as nursing homes, dementia care or home care is highly desirable.
Qualifications in first aid are advantageous.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is preferred.
Experience with Alzheimer's care, dementia care or hospice care is beneficial.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required.
Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred but not essential.
Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a caring environment.
Flexibility to work shifts as required; previous experience in senior or patient care is advantageous but not mandatory.
