About the Role
As Health Protection Manager, you'll play a key role in safeguarding public health by providing expert advice and strategic leadership across Health Protection, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and Climate Change agendas. You'll lead and support efforts to prevent, control, and manage infectious disease and environmental health incidents--working both independently and collaboratively as part of multi-agency planning and response teams.

Proven expertise in health protection and emergency preparedness.
Strong leadership and partnership-building skills.
Significant experience in a senior role in Public Health or Health Protection or EPRR or Environmental Health.
Ability to think strategically, manage complexity, and make evidence-based decisions under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the response to infectious disease and environmental health incidents, ensuring effective risk management and system coordination.
Provide expert guidance to stakeholders across the health and care system.
Shape strategic planning for preparedness and emergency response.
Actively contribute to the development of policy, guidance, and training programmes.
Support incident management structures and act as an advisor within incident response teams.
Collaborate with national and local partners to deliver resilient public health systems.
Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
