Job Description

We are recruiting for one Health Records Clerk to be based in our Health Records Clerk Department in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.



The current contracts that are available are as follows;



1 x Full time - 37.5 hours per week



For this role, previous experience in a record keeping role is not required, as on the job training will be provided. You will predominately begin your training in our Filing Library and then be exposed to other duties within the department.



The post holder will cover a range of duties including;



Filing and retrieving of patient records, locating, and providing patient records for all outpatient appointments, planned admissions and day case attendances.



Preparation of patient records for outpatient/inpatient attendances



Operation of a computerised patients administration system, including inputting and retrieval of data



Dealing with telephone queries



Scanning of patient records to support the Medical Examiners Service.

Applicants must possess excellent organisational, inter-personal and numerical skills. A flexible approach to working and working hours is required. Applicants should be prepared to undertake additional duties as and when required. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is vital.

Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
