Role: Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Chesterton, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 6BN
Remuneration: Dependant on experience and skill set with excellent earning potential.
Working hours: 8:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday with one 30 min break. 45hrs a week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting HS&E Manager in monitoring and implementing H&S on the premises in line with the company policies and procedures. A practical approach is crucial in developing safety culture and engage workers and senior management.
H&S Advisor will have interest in the law and regulations surrounding the workplace and long-term commitment to the career in this field. The company offers necessary on the job training and an opportunity gain professional qualifications. Proactive approach to learning and exploring new ideas will be essential to enhance individual's skills and knowledge.
The job purpose is to:
Conduct daily and weekly checks across the whole site, covering 27 acres, 5 main manufacturing buildings and another 7 sub factories.
Update existing and creating new Risk Assessments and SOP's.
Deliver site inductions for new employees and sub-contractors.
Complete COSHH assessments and maintaining COSHH register.
Complete PUWER assessments, manual handling assessments, HAVS calculations and other assessments to ensure compliance.
Be point of contact for any safety incidents and carrying out investigations and close out report and findings.
Participate in key emergency drills and training.
Update key documents as required and implement improved processes.
Record NCRs and formalising the root cause and close out.
Drive the safety culture forward daily with a proactive approach.
Review RAMS supplied by subcontractors and external window fitting companies.
The suitable applicant will:
Take initiative to gain experience and knowledge in the H&S field.
Will have some knowledge H&S regulations in the workplace.
Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word and Outlook).
Be able to plan and prioritise workload.
Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Have hands on approach to problem solving and can think on their feet.
Have high attention to detail.
Read, gather and interpret information, present numerical data.
Successfully engage with the 230+ employees on the site and take ownership of the H&S in the factories and external areas.
Have problem solving and decision-making skills.
Have excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Having any relevant H&S qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH) will be a distinct advantage.
