About the Role



To ensure the compliance, communication, and day to day management of the companies Health and Safety and Environment Management system. To ensure the safety of the companies staff, suppliers, and visitors.



Day to Day




To ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation. To outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards. To undertake regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented. To support the preparation of HS&E strategies and develop internal policy. To participate in, document and administer risk assessments (including COSHH), assisting the business ensuring all equipment and activities are covered with a suitable and sufficient risk assessment. To record incidents and investigate accidents to determine root causes and corrective actions. To assist in producing meaningful KPI's for management reviews. To keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry To produce management reports, Team Briefs and other bulletins as required. To undertake audits and support the management of ISO45001 OH&S MS To support the Facilities and Process teams to manage COSHH and to provide advice on subjects such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, occupational diseases. To provide support for H&S software users across the business. To own aspects of the H&S roadmap and delivering on these. To work with the business and others to support development and implementation of new initiatives or sharing of best practices to support safe and efficient working. To act as an informed, objective, and proficient advisor for HS&E management across all workstreams. Deliver health and safety inductions and training as required. Support health and safety change initiatives that contribute to zero harm strategic objectives, influencing others and driving improvement. Exhibit role model behaviours that provide a consistent visible leadership for HS&E. To carry out reasonable duties as requested by Management



About You




Education, Qualifications and Training




IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (minimum) National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) or willingness to work towards.



Experience




Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role. Ideally experience of operating in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrable evidence of operational improvement.



Skills/Abilities




Excellent written and spoken communication skills, ideally to groups. Negotiating skills, patience, diplomacy and a collaborative approach Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately an investigative mind IT skills, attention to detail, a flexible approach to work. Interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations.
