- Compliance Lead (Mat Cover 9 Month) - Sheffield

We are looking to recruit experienced Compliance Lead to join our back-office team based at our Sheffield office, working alongside the Operational Department to help manage company policies to ensure the business complies with both internal and external compliance regulations and procedures. By doing so, you'll help to reduce risk to the business and ensure our actions align with our company values.

We are working on behalf of major energy and Utility suppliers, within the energy sector to provide a range of services including, smart meter exchanges, mains gas replacement programmes, DNO electric equipment upgrades and gas meter exchanges and Traffic Management.

The Role - (Key aspects of the job will involve):

Responsible in ensuring that VOCON complies with its legal and regulatory obligations in relation to industry standards.

Responsible to ensure Quality Management Systems are correct and updated in line with business and industry changes.

Provide specialist knowledge, based on experience, and interrelation of current legislation to ensure compliance is appropriate and effective in the following main areas:

o Gas Industry Regulations, mainly focused on Gas Meter Exchanges

o Utilities/Energy Experience (preferable)

o Health and Safety at Work Regulations in Utilities and or Traffic Management

o Risk Management and Implementation of Safe Systems of Work

Monitoring of internal audit regime and liaising with the operations department to ensure regime is followed.

Assisting with completion of investigation reports, client complaints and incidents and accidents.

Development of training materials and processes, designed to educate colleagues on the importance of compliance and sharing of best practice with external clients.

Devising and implementing compliance monitoring processes to identify areas of risk or non-compliance.

Support the Operations team to ensure all training is maintained and kept up to date. Maintain Training Matrix

The Person (The successful candidate will have the following personal attributes):

Previous experience of compliance/auditing within the Utilities and or Traffic Management sector

Knowledge of energy sector and metering works would be advantageous.

Technical knowledge and understanding of MOCOPA procedures and Gas Industry Regulations preferred.

Knowledge of external auditing and accreditations such as ISO:9001, Achilles, Gas Safe and other energy related company qualifications.

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and preventative measures and responses

Comfortable working with a small team and prepared to support in other areas across the business.

Pleasant nature and great communicator (Verbal & Written), and above all wants to deliver a great customer service.

Proactive / ability to think on your feet, able to identify risks and implement suggestions to improve

Good knowledge of IT - Microsoft Office - Excel Spread sheets, Power Point is a must.

The package

Location: Sheffield - S9 5PH - Darnall, Sheffield J34 and Derby DE21 7RX

Hours 45Hrs - Operating Window (7am - 5pm Flexible to suit)

Salary: 30k to 38k - Subject to experience
