We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager who has a deep and broad understanding of Health and Safety, enjoys leading people and thrives on innovation, creating new ideas, and changing mindsets.
Reporting to theDirector of Assurance & Process Excellence, you'll lead a team of H&S Business Partners to partner with MTC to implement, maintain and improve its Health and Safety arrangements.
You'll work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for developing the HS&E policy and strategy, leading on all aspects of H&S Policy development and promoting risk elimination and mitigation throughout the MTC.
Your responsibilities will include.
Providing accurate and timely Health and Safety advice and information to colleagues
Helping build and deliver the framework necessary to manage Health and Safety as effectively as possible.
Supporting management in investigating Health and Safety matters, ensuring all learning is extracted and implemented.
Auditing the MTC against ISO 45001 and supporting management in developing action plans
Developing and deliver corporate initiatives that address the internal and external Health and Safety/Environmental risk landscape.
Providing technical and cultural leadership on all HS&E related topics.
Managing HS&E related budgets and expenditures.
Developing all aspects of HS&E management systems.
Delivering/implementing the occupational health programme working collaboratively with HR.
Partnering with external stakeholders such as members and tenanted organisations to maintain clear roles and responsibilities and H&S arrangements.
Chair MTC's Operational H&S Steering Committee and, as Secretary, co-ordinate MTC's Strategic HS&E Steering Committee meetings
Who we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager, who has a deep and broad understanding of UK legislation relevant to Health and Safety, being proficient in the interpretation and application of it within an RTO.
You'll have a comprehensive understanding of ISO 45001 and how best to apply it in the MTC, as well as being an expert in Health & Safety risk management in various contexts across the full scale of complexity.
We're also looking for a strong, inclusive people leader, who brings experience of leading a team.
You'll also
Have thorough and practical grasp of the tools required to effectively determine the root causes of Health and Safety accidents or incidents and be able to pass this knowledge on through coaching and facilitation.
Have NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
Be an experienced lead Auditor for 45001:2018.
Have outstanding written and oral delivery and deliver critical messages succinctly via the appropriate means.
Tailor your style to the audience and circumstances, blending assertiveness with empathy where required.
Be able to generate and present Health and Safety statistics consistently with HSE quality guidance.
Produce meaningful reports and MI for key stakeholders and create an insightful narrative around data, transforming it into useful management information.
Drive results through effective change management and team performance.
Build clear line of sight to your internal and external customers and have a clear set of requirements on what good service looks like.
