Location: Croydon, South London


Up to 65,000 + bonus dep on experience


Hybrid working pattern available

Role Overview




We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across our warehouse and retail operations. This role is critical in driving compliance, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture across multi-site environments.


Please note the role involves supporting and visiting our pharmacy sites which are often in remote locations or where public transport is limited therefore access to a car and a clean valid driving licence is essential.


Key Responsibilities




Report to the Board with clear, actionable insights to drive safety improvements. Lead the warehouse safety champion programme and chair monthly meetings. Deliver compliance reports to warehouse and pharmacy leadership. Shape and support the company's Health and Safety strategy. Provide expert H&S guidance across all levels and locations. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and SOPs. Lead investigations into serious incidents and accidents. Conduct site visits and ensure risk assessments and safe working practices are in place. Deliver Fire Marshall and Manual Handling training; support online training content. Liaise with Enforcing Authorities and escalate issues appropriately. Represent the company in legal matters, including court appearances. Manage insurance claims and liaise with insurers. Ensure property compliance and support facilities management on H&S matters.

Requirements




Skills & Experience




Proven H&S experience in warehousing, logistics, or retail. Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and HSE guidelines. Skilled in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations. Excellent communicator with leadership experience. Familiar with safety management systems and data analysis tools. Able to work with senior leadership in a family business environment.

Qualifications




NEBOSH National Diploma (preferred); NEBOSH Certificate (essential). IOSH Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) or working towards. Experience managing multi-site safety operations. Strong planning, decision-making, and communication skills.
