The Role:



We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support delivery of Company's Health and Safety policy and objectives.

Reporting into the Head of EHS, you will need to ensure legal compliance and risk management are met, be the main contact for all health & safety, matters across the business and to drive the culture of health, safety, and wellbeing to ensure that the company ethics are adopted throughout the business.

This is a full-time role over 5 days. Flexible on start and finish times, office-based.

Main responsibilities will include:



To provide high level advice and support to Head of EHS and Director of EHS on health & safety issues as necessary Lead the implementation of the health and safety strategy and best practice across the business To lead and manage the departmental team Ensuring, as far as practical, that the company complies with its legal and moral obligations in terms of health and safety. Develop and conduct site inspections and audits to maintain risk as low as reasonably practicable and ensure compliance with the relevant ISO standards. Assist in the completion of CAPEX plans/forms Provide support in developing and maintaining legal health & safety documentation Ensure accident / incident investigations and reporting on findings to relevant management and insurers are conducted in an accurate, timely matter, including completion of CCTV requests and reviews Provide health & safety support and advice to ensure compliance with corporate policy and procedures as well as legislative requirements Support operational management teams in the production of project specific health and safety plans, methods, and risk assessments Coordinate all "risk assessments" as required by legislation, including display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, pregnant workers, young workers etc. Lead on creating a pro-active health and safety culture on site by employee engagement Maintain a working relationship with regulatory agencies Monitor and advise on training modules Reporting of injuries and occurrences under the RIDDOR regulations Create and maintain site emergency plans and procedures Maintain the company's occupational health programme KPI and weekly reporting Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where relevant

The Person:

The successful candidate will have proven competence and experience working within a similar role in a heavy manufacturing environment and have a formal national qualification in Health and Safety. NEBOSH Diploma and CMIOSH or working towards. The following knowledge, skills and qualifications are also required:

Proficient in the preparation of risk assessments and safe work procedures In depth knowledge of OHSAS ISO 45001 Highly proficient in developing site-specific reports pertaining to OHS Ability to undertake site work, data recording and analysis, with the capability of tailoring strategies to technical requirements according to business needs Competent to a good standard in Microsoft Office 365 Effectively influence those at all levels, excellent communication and leadership skills Professional in approach to deal with issues and employees Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure Excellent problem solving, judgement and decision making skills Seeks ways to continuously improve and learn Experience with quality management, project management and change management People management skills
