Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our health and safety programmes at our depots in both Worksop, Notts and Ingatestone Essex and at our operational sites country wide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and implementing effective safety policies. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to engage with employees at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and company policies.
Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple locations.
Prepare and maintain method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and other HSEQ documentation.
Conduct staff inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Provide ongoing advice and support to project managers, site supervisors, and operatives on all H&S matters.
Monitor and improve safety performance and culture across the business.
Liaise with external auditors, clients, and enforcing authorities when required.
Assist with maintaining ISO standards and internal management systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - essential
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar health and safety role, ideally within construction, civil engineering, or plant hire sectors
Knowledge of CDM regulations and current HSE legislation
Full UK driving licence - essential (travel to sites is required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and confidently advise all levels of staff
IOSH membership or working towards - desirable
Experience with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) - beneficial
