Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving and a genuine passion for providing high-quality support to individuals in need. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or specific care settings such as Alzheimer's or dementia care is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure client safety and comfort. Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, or home care is preferred. Knowledge of first aid principles is essential; additional training may be provided. Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs. A caring attitude towards individuals with varying levels of independence and health conditions. Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by client needs.
