Responsibilities



Assist healthcare providers with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Support clinical staff with procedures like medication administration, wound care, and basic life support (BLS) protocols to ensure patient safety and comfort. Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures. Support hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, and specialized units such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient examinations. Conduct basic diagnostic tasks such as taking X-rays or assisting with imaging procedures under supervision in hospital or outpatient settings. Monitor patients' physiological responses during treatments or procedures, recording vital signs and reporting any abnormalities promptly. Assist with hospital administrative duties like scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care delivery. Support emergency medicine teams in Level I or Level II trauma centers by providing rapid response assistance and ensuring adherence to trauma protocols. Help facilitate smooth inpatient and outpatient operations by managing patient movement, preparing charts for surgery or diagnostic tests, and supporting medication administration processes. Uphold high standards of patient service by demonstrating empathy, clear communication, and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications



Prior experience in hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, or related specialties is advantageous. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and effective communication. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ICD coding or X-ray assistance are a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology to support patient assessments and procedures effectively. Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU settings will be considered an asset. Ability to perform tasks involving medication administration safely within scope of practice. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across inpatient and outpatient environments. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed protocols for intake procedures, vital signs monitoring, and emergency responses.
