Inclusion Health Devon CIC is a dedicated community GP and healthcare provider focused on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals experiencing homelessness and those with complex health needs in Exeter and Barnstaple. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centered healthcare that addresses both medical and social determinants of health.
We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Healthcare Assistant or Assistant Practitioner to join our clinical team, supporting the delivery of leg ulcer care and a wide range of essential HCA duties.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in working within a healthcare setting or have experience of working with vulnerable clients and have strong communication skills to ensure our patients receive the very best experience and support to meet their health needs.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, non-judgmental and motivated to support our patients along with the ability to work as part of a team.
Main Duties of the Job:
This is a hands-on, patient-facing role, supporting vulnerable individuals who often struggle to access traditional healthcare. You will work closely with our nurses and GPs to deliver:
Leg ulcer and wound care (including dressings, compression, doppler)
Venepuncture, ECGs, urinalysis and routine observations (BP, pulse, weight, etc.)
New patient health checks and support for chronic disease monitoring
Health promotion and support for self-care and recovery
Chaperoning and admin support as needed
You will be based in our Exeter clinics, working fixed shifts on Monday and Wednesday afternoons and all day Friday. Some flexibility may be available.

What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants who are:
Experienced HCAs or Assistant Practitioners with community, primary care or inclusion health experience
Skilled in wound care, venepuncture and basic clinical tasks
Confident working independently, but always within clear protocols and with support
Compassionate, reliable, and able to build trust with people who have complex needs
You must have:
Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent (Band 3), OR
Assistant Practitioner qualification or be a Registered Nursing Associate (Band 4)
Up-to-date Care Certificate (or willingness to complete)
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undertake one)
Working Hours:
Monday -
1:00PM to 6:00 PM
Wednesday
- 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
