We are looking to recruit a band 3 Senior HCA at each Urgent Treatment centre, Folkestone and Deal.
The post would interest a current HCA Band 3 within the unit with proven skills who can work within a multi disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care within existing standards and guidelines. You will need to be able to make decisions based on excellent clinical skills enabling safe passage of patients through the Urgent Treatment Centre. Youmust have initiative and work within your scope supporting all the Nurse Practitioners within the unit but also mentor and support the other band 3 on each site.
Ideally applicants should have worked as an HCA at band 3 within the health field. It is however not essential. They must be prepared to continue to develop into the role to promote excellent care for all our patients. Mandatory training dates are set yearly for all staff to attend and these must be kept up to date.

Main duties of the job
Independently bring patients into the unit and inform the Nurse Practitioners of any concerns:

• Complete simple dressings
• Wound closure and other treatments
• Eye wash outs
• Observe the waiting area
• Observations and keep the unit stocked
• Working closely with all the Senior staff

• Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare, or you will be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience.
• You may also have the Care Certificate, but if not, we will support you to achieve this within the first 3 months of starting.
• You'll need to have recent experience of healthcare/working as a health care assistant gained through education, work experience or previous employment.
• In addition you will also have Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C/ 4-9 or equivalent in English and Maths)
