Job Title: Healthcare Assistant (PMLD - School Setting)
Location: Harrow, London
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, Term-time only
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team within a specialist school in Harrow. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide high-quality care and assistance that enables each pupil to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Healthcare Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to pupils with PMLD.
• Assist with feeding, mobility, and medical interventions as required.
• Support teaching staff in delivering tailored educational and therapeutic activities.
• Ensure pupils' safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Maintain accurate records and follow individual care and support plans.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to promote positive outcomes for pupils.

Healthcare Assistant Attributes:

• Proven experience supporting children or young people with PMLD.
• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting.
• A caring, patient, and professional approach to your work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
