- 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Sunday, working 4 long shifts per week - 7am - 5pm, and 1 weekend in 3



Here at Practice Plus Group, we are looking for a healthcare assistant to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Altcourse - the busiest remand prison in the country! Is it challenging? Yes! Is it rewarding...Yes! But you will be supported at all times, and you can really can make a difference.



This role sits within our Substance Misuse Service, however SMS experience isn't essential - we can train this! It is important to us that you have an interest in Substance Misuse, and are keen to learn in this area!

We're looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to help deliver the best care possible.

Joining the Substance Misuse team, you will:

Run clinics on the wings, including bloods and vaccinations. Be involved in care packages, including phlebotomy, venepuncture, ECGs and observations. Respond to emergency situations. Work with the wider nursing team across the prison.

What do we need from you:

Experience in, or a keen interest in Substance Misuse NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate. Clinical knowledge - venepuncture, phlebotomy would be a bonus! A caring approach, with the drive to help those in your care.
