Job title: Healthcare Assistant - Rapid Response & Overnight 1:1 Service

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 \xc2\xa322,383 basic pay plus High Cost Area Allowance \xc2\xa34,888 per annum, pro rata with generous enhancements. (41% of basic salary - Sat & weekday nights | 83% of basic salary - Sun & Public holidays)

(A typical annually Salary including High cost Area allowance will be \xc2\xa327,271 pro rata plus enhancements)

Hours: Full time / Part time / Bank hours

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: London area

Overnight 1:1 Service - Available Positions are;

South West: (Merton, Sutton, Croydon, Wandsworth, Kingston, Richmond): 10pm - 7am
North West: (Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow, Brent, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kingston & Chelsea, Enfield & Haringey): 10pm - 7am
North East : (Barking, Dagenham, Redbridge, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets): 10pm -7am
South East : (Greenwich, Bromley, Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Bexley): 10pm - 7am

Rapid Response service - Available Positions are;
North East: (Barking, Dagenham, Redbridge, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets): 10pm - 8am
North West: (Ealing, Hounslow): 6pm - 7am
South East: (Greenwich, Bromley, Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Bexley): 10pm - 8am

Must have a full UK Driving Licence - Car will be provided at base (for Rapid Response staff only)

Job responsibilities
  • Providing vital psycho-social & emotional support to patients and their families
  • Monitoring symptoms and assisting with medication
  • Keeping detailed patient records
  • Assisting patients in the performance of daily activities
  • Providing end of life and immediate after death care

What we are looking for:
  • S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is desirable
  • Interpersonal/Communication skills
  • Emotional strength, patience, and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support.
  • Continued access to NHS Pension Scheme (subject to eligibility)
  • End-of-life care experience is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided and opportunity to learn on the job
